**Description** --------------- Performs intermediate advanced technical work planning, designing, permitting, directing, inspecting and maintaining of a variety of solid waste projects, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Solid Waste Operations Manager. **Examples of Duties** ---------------------- * Serves as Project Field Engineer for construction projects involving solid waste management facilities. * Serves as a liaison between consultants, contractors, other municipal departments and agencies, as well as the general public. * Reviews designs, plans, specifications, construction cost estimates, schedules, and other items prepared by consulting engineers for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance. * Coordinates construction bid process with engineers, contractors, City/County Purchasing Department staff, etc. including preparation of bid documents, pre\-bid conferences, bid openings, and pre\-construction meetings. * Reviews and approves submittals, invoices, and payment applications by engineers and contractors. * Reviews and inspects construction of projects, processes change order documentation, and part...
