**Emergency Weather Shelter Coordinator** **Sierra Roots \| Nevada City, CA** **$33/hour \| Seasonal \| Part\-time \| Weather\-dependent** **Important schedule note:** This is a highly seasonal, weather dependent and activation\-based position. Most Coordinator work can be performed remotely, with limited on\-site work required for training and shelter readiness. **About the Position** When severe weather hits Nevada County, Sierra Roots creates a place of warmth and safety for vulnerable members of our community. This is a hands\-on coordination and highly public\-facing role for someone who is organized, confident engaging with others and comfortable managing a lot of moving parts. The Coordinator leads staffing and scheduling, recruitment and onboarding, volunteer coordination, logistics, administrative systems and community communication surrounding shelter activations. Much of the work is relational. The Coordinator recruits and communicates with staff and volunteers, builds relationships with partner agencies, donors and community organizations, and serves as a primary outward\-facing representative of EWS.
