**Job Title:** Staff Accountant **Location:** Houma, LA **Position Overview:** The Staff Accountant will be responsible for compiling and analyzing financial data to prepare entries to various general ledger accounts while documenting business transactions. Key Responsibilities: * Preparing and maintaining financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other summaries to reflect the company’s current and projected financial position. * Analyzing yard cost and evaluating job cost in order to be able to work with the project managers and collaborate on an accurate estimate at completion for current yard projects. * Help with time entry and accounts payable invoices as needed. * Help with invoicing of projects * Help gather requested data from auditors * Preparing sales tax returns. **Qualifications:** * A bachelor's degree in accounting or a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience **Skills and Abilities:** * Hands\-on experience with general ledger (GL) functions, balance sheet, and income statement preparation, fixed asset tracking, and project costing is preferred. * Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel. * Experience with Oracl...
