**General Description** ----------------------- The County Engineer serves as the County’s professional engineering authority while coordinating and managing the planning, design, permitting, acquisition, and construction of transportation and stormwater capital infrastructure projects. This position performs advanced technical engineering analysis and design; oversees development review and permitting; and manages major transportation projects including highways, intersections, signalization, bridges, multi\-use paths, resurfacing, and drainage improvements. The County Engineer independently plans and implements projects within established policy guidelines, manages consultants and contractors, administers contracts, and provides technical leadership to staff. The position represents the County in public meetings, before boards and agencies, and coordinates with state and regional partners. **SALARY DISCLOSURE****:** The anticipated starting salary is $109,707\.31; final compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. **Citrus County is an eligible employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.
