Overview: Implements pharmaceutical services to patients throughout the Medical Center by providing accurately compounded and dispensed medications and various clinical functions, including, but not limited to, therapeutic drug monitoring and patient appropriate dosing. Responsibilities: ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILITY FOR CHECKING ALL MEDICATIONS LEAVING THE DEPARTMENT TO VERIFY QUALITY ASSURANCE. The pharmacist must have a working knowledge of, or be able to retrieve information about chemotherapy agents. The pharmacist must have a working knowledge of hyperalimentation. The pharmacist must have a working knowledge of IV admixture. The pharmacist must have a working knowledge of narcotic control. The pharmacist must have a working knowledge of investigational drugs. The pharmacist must have a working knowledge ofe therapeutic drug monitoring. The pharmacist must have a working knowledge of medication storage and dispensing guidelines. DISPENSES MEDICATIONS FROM PHYSICIAN ORDERS. Ensuring accurate entry of the order into the computer to furnish hospital personnel with current medication administration reports.
