**Position Summary** The purpose of the Coding Educator is to manage coding and chart documentation\-training programs in order to ensure consistent and accurate ICD\-10 coding by Health Information Management Coders. The Coding Trainer/Educator will work with the medical staff, coders and other Valley Medical Group staff on best practices for documentation in the medical record. **Education** * Associates Degree in a health or business related field is strongly recommended. * Bachelor,s degree is a preferred. * Successful completion of a post\-secondary billing or coding program or coursework, or the equivalent combination of experience, education * CPC (Certified Professional Coder) and CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor) preferred. **Experience** Five (5\) years of progressive coding experience in a medical group practice setting, with coding/billing experience in multiple medical specialties. Surgical and outpatient procedural coding is required. **Skills** * Experience in using medical billing software and electronic medical records is required.
