**Emergency Weather Shelter Manager** **Sierra Roots \| Nevada City, CA** **$33/hour \| Seasonal \| Part\-time \| Weather\-dependent** **Important schedule note:** This is a highly seasonal, weather\-dependent and activation\-based position. Most manager hours occur on\-site during shelter activations, typically during evening operations and morning closing. **About the Position** When severe weather hits Nevada County, Sierra Roots creates a place of warmth and safety for vulnerable members of our community. This is a hands\-on leadership role for someone who is calm under pressure, confident working with people and comfortable making decisions in unpredictable situations. The Manager leads on\-site shelter operations, supervises staff and volunteers, maintains safety and the overall shelter environment and responds to challenges as they arise. Much of the work is relational. The Shelter Manager works directly with shelter guests and staff, setting clear expectations while creating an environment grounded in compassion and respect.
