The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit specializes in the post\-operative management of patients undergoing cardiac surgery and other complex cardiovascular procedures. Patients are admitted directly from the operating room, where they are closely monitored, stabilized, weaned from supportive therapies, and extubated as appropriate. The unit also receives critically ill cardiovascular patients transferred from other facilities, including those experiencing surgical complications or requiring advanced evaluation and care not available elsewhere. The Registered Nurse (RN) on J65 delivers expert critical care and post\-operative management for patients undergoing cardiac surgery and complex cardiovascular procedures in a 14\-bed Cardiovascular ICU.
