Duties Description The position plays a critical role in the New York State bridge inspection program that requires biennial (every two years) inspections of all publicly owned highway bridges to ensure safety. The program is mandated by Federal and State law to protect public safety and requires a Quality Control Engineer (QCE) to review all inspection reports and certify that quality control has been completed. The candidate may also assist with other assignments within the Infrastructure Inspection Bureau including Special Hauling Permit Review. The candidate should have at least five (5\) years of recent experience in bridge design, construction, inspection or other bridge engineering\-related experience. * Review Bridge Inspection reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Manual. Approximately 200 reports are reviewed each year.
