Overview: Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, directs, coordinates, and controls the nursing activities of his or her assigned staff. Assists the Supervisor in evaluation of assigned staff and in completion of assigned projects. The Registered Nurse provides care for a group of patients utilizing the Nursing Process. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served. Responsible for maintaining nursing schedules, orientation of new employees. Responsibilities: * Provides leadership for the nursing team on assigned shift. Collaborates with the Unit's nursing leadership team and other shift * Charge Nurses to coordinate patient care and staffing as needed to include assigning lunches and breaks for the staff. * Makes patient assignments ensuring effective and appropriate utilization of staff based on patient acuity.
