The emphasis will be on Virginia Sales and Use Tax. The Auditor, using generally accepted auditing standards, reviews taxpayer and business records and other source documents needed to determine if the taxpayer is compliant with the tax laws of Virginia. The Auditor also develops audits and assessments, educates taxpayers, and ensures the collection and remittance of payments are the appropriate amount of tax due to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
