**About this Job** ------------------ **OUR MISSION** Our mission is to ensure the physical, operational and financial integrity of the regional flood risk management system, in southeastern Louisiana as a defense against floods and storm surge from hurricanes. We accomplish this mission by working with local, regional, state and federal partners to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain projects that will reduce the probability and risk of flooding for the residents and businesses within our jurisdiction. **OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE** The Internal Auditor serves as the agency's independent assurance and advisory professional responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of governance, risk management, internal controls, and compliance activities. The position develops and administers the agency's internal audit program by conducting operational, financial, compliance, and performance audits; assessing organizational risks; identifying opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve efficiency; and providing objective recommendations to management and the Board.
