The Boards and Commissions Division oversees the administration of 28 professional and occupational licensing boards and commissions, and approximately 100,000 individual licenses ranging from dentists and social workers to real estate brokers and cosmetologists. This position is located within the Divisions Health Licensing Bureau, based out of the Department's Santa Fe office. Each board and commission has its own set of rules and its own licensing requirements. The Governor of New Mexico appoints members to boards and commissions who work closely with the Superintendent of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department to protect consumer rights while promoting good business practices and economic growth.
