**Description** --------------- The City of Roanoke is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to join the Sign Shop section of the Transportation Division. This position works with a crew of three to five employees responsible for a variety of traffic marking and sign installation activities within the public right of way. The Maintenance Technician III will be responsible for the following: * Maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly spreadsheets containing traffic marking records and reports. * Operating a long\-line striping truck to perform traffic marking operations. * Assisting the Traffic Operations Supervisor with scheduling departmental work assignments. * Creating and closing work orders in an asset management database. * Participating in snow removal operations. * Serving in rotating standby emergency barricade call duty. **Required Qualifications and Experience** The successful candidate must have experience using Microsoft Excel and working with computers and iPads. The position requires knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and an intermediate work zone certification recognized by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
