**Position Summary** Under the direction of engineers of a higher grade, the incumbents of this position assist in the preparation of structural design calculations for bridge repairs such as bridge deck replacements and beam end repairs for bridges of normal complexity, bridge design plans and details, and bridge repair quantities and special provisions. Incumbents also assist in the review and project management of bridge preservation projects. **Duties and Responsibilities** * Performs calculations such as those related to the preparation of structural design for bridge elements and repairs for bridges of normal complexity in accordance with AASHTO specifications and MassDOT standards. * Prepares elements of repair plans and details in accordance with MassDOT standards. * Performs calculations such as those related to the preparation of bridge construction material quantity and bridge project cost estimates. * Participates in reviews of shop drawings in relation to construction procedures and to determine compliance with design intent for repairs and preservation actions designed by the Bridge Preservation Unit. * Assists with reviews of preservation projects of standard complex...
